Goodbye Pitchlists

Today’s pitchlist is a very important announcement:

The Ubyssey is changing our staffing model as of September 2025 and will be phasing out pitchlists.

If you are interested in contributing via the new staff model, here is the message from the managing team:

The Ubyssey is launching its new Contributing Journalist Program (CJP). The program is a 4 month commitment where new journalists will receive training and a chance to contribute to any of our sections. You will learn new skills, gain journalism experience and access to a workspace and collaborative community. Completing the CJP will also automatically make you eligible to join our core staff team which comes with more responsibility but also opportunity. Pitch lists like these are going to be gradually phased out, and the CJP and the core staff team will become the new participation system at The Ubyssey so if you're interested in contributing long term at The Ubyssey then you should consider applying.
