Shooting concrete buildings

Cinematography is photography inspiration

I watched two very different movies recently; The Brutalist and Universal Language. But they had one thing in common: a ton of concrete buildings.

What was really interesting was how both movies shot these buildings — they mainly used lines, negative space, tones, symmetry and simplicity to form composition… everything building felt like a puzzle piece that clicked into place.

Take a look at what I mean:

  1. In photos: Jumpstart

Take photos of students taking part of Jumpstart, events hosted around campus, or other related things! The assigned photographer will be responsible for reaching out to sources, taking the photos, and curating the final selection of photos.

Note: I’m looking a photographer who has contributed at least twice to photo section. There’s a lot of flexibility in terms of where you could take this story, so let me know if you have any ideas in your email!

    Deadline: early September
